Privacy Policy

👋 Overview

CurrSnap is a currency converter app for iPhone developed by Alex Danchenko. This Privacy Policy describes our practices with respect to information when you use our app.

📱 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or crash reports
• Any data transmitted to our servers

There are no user accounts, no registration, and no login.

💾 Data Stored on Your Device

CurrSnap stores the following data locally on your device only, using iOS standard storage (UserDefaults / SharedPreferences):

• Your selected currencies and their order
• Your chosen base currency
• Cached exchange rate data (to reduce network requests)
• Your rate alert settings
• App preferences (language, display options)

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.

🌐 Network Requests

CurrSnap fetches exchange rate data from a third-party public API:

• Service: open.er-api.com
• What is sent: A standard HTTP GET request with no personal data
• What is received: Exchange rate data (currency codes and values)
• Frequency: At most once per hour (results are cached locally)

🛎️ Notifications

CurrSnap can send local notifications to alert you when a currency rate reaches your target.

• Notifications are entirely local — generated on your device, not sent from a server
• No notification content is transmitted anywhere
• You can enable or disable notifications at any time in iPhone Settings

💳 In-App Purchases

CurrSnap offers optional one-time tip purchases (Coffee, Cake, Pizza) to support development. These purchases are:

• Processed entirely by Apple through the App Store
• Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
• Not linked to any account or personal data within the app

We do not receive any payment card information or personal financial details.

👶 Children's Privacy

CurrSnap does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app collects no personal data from any user.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
